Karin Myint’s design practice is rooted in collaboration and care. Through identity design, brand strategy, retail branding systems, and typography Myint creates meaning through visuals for impact-driven outcomes.

Myint is the award-winning Principal and Creative Lead at Metalmark. As a designer and creative director, she is detail-driven, thoughtful, and versatile—bridging the demands of the corporate and artistic into elegant, intelligent solutions for clients like Williams Sonoma, Chronicle Books, and the Black Artists + Designers Guild. Her creative process has brand-building down to a science, but one that is conducted with empathy and curiosity. Grounded in exploration and decades of visual design expertise, Myint distills each brand’s essence into an original, scalable story.

Projects rooted in responsibility and stewardship towards society are the pillars of her practice. Myint was co-chair of education for the San Francisco chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and help start the Studio 5 Program aiming to bring design equity into the profession. She is presently the Board President of KAMBARA+, a dance company informed by narratives of equity and inclusion.

Myint is a Senior Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design at the California College of the Arts (CCA). She teaches studio-based typography courses helping young designers develop their own authentic design voice with a critical visual lens through experimentation and play.

Myint lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. She finds inspiration from the Bay Area’s many visual and sensory delights and its quintessential culture, defined by the values of freedom and expression.
